Timeless album covers

As album covers go the Beatles lonely hearts club band seems to be an all time classic. The true test of a classic is how it can timelessly be able to relate to many people and teenagers across many generation, hence the massive rate of cd duplication for this particular album cover. Often what was so exciting and modern for one generation is considered “old hat” to the next.

For example do any of today’s teenager think being a “teddy boy” or girl is “hip” or many adults for that matter. I know because apparently a family member was one and I saw pictures in books somewhere. Apparently it was today with some type of rockabilly type music and the girls had swirly round skirts and the boys mopeds and high hair with funky suits.

Now if you ask a teenager what they think of teddy boys and girls you might get some strange confused even concerned looks. If your lucky and your teenagers considerate enough they might let you relax for the day thinking your overworked and help doing some extra chores. However if you show them them or a digital picture even (if you don’t want to explain what a record is and then a cover for it and why its so big and what a record player is) of the Beatles loney heart club album you might actually get some interest.

Its still appealing to the rebelliousness of youth with all its wild colours and in your face artwork. Its got mod style suits, sexy blonde ladies in gold, china dolls and a multicultural mixture of all sorts of famous faces all in one place. Each time you look at it something new seems to appear. Even the beatles themselves are in their double in two styles of dress, one of which is quite an interesting mixture of wild colours and old style soldier or band type uniforms.
